1896     Tennis Club and Clubhouse appear on the Ordnance Survey map of 1896.

1899     Listed as a Tennis Club with Clubhouse in the Valuation Roll of 1899 (this is the earliest available Valuation Roll in Dumbarton Library).

1919     5th July     “Churches have many adjuncts, but the United Free North Church, here, is giving      a new lead to Scotland in the opening, under the auspices of its Social and Athletics Club,    of the courts of Kirktonhill Tennis Club.  Rev. M. Stephen...is well supported by the youth of      the congregation and as tennis is distinctly on the boom in town, the new club should secure      a firm footing.  The membership is open to all, already it is large, but application forms may      still be obtained.” (Lennox Herald)

      12th July  -  New Courts Opened at Dumbarton     
     “On Saturday afternoon the tennis courts at Kirktonhill, acquired by the Social and Athletic Club of the United Free North Church were declared open for play be Colonel John M.      Denny, C.B., of Helenslee.  The old courts, which formerly belonged to the Old Kirktonhill      Tennis Club, had fallen into disrepair during the war, but as a result of the enthusiasm of the      Rev. W.L.Stephen and the energy and practical help of a number of interested lieutenants,
     two of the four courts were bottomed with tons of material .....”  (Lennox Herald)

1922     29th April  -  Kirktonhill Tennis Courts
     “The Kirktonhill Tennis Courts were opened on Saturday... There has been an entire      overhaul of the grounds, with structural alterations on and additions to the pavilion, which      are a marked improvement......The club has joined the new local League, and intimation is      given of a number of fixtures, for inter-club play.....“ (Lennox Herald)

1922     13th May    “In connection with the recently formed local tennis league, a match....was      played between Dumbarton and Kirktonhill at the former's grounds, etc. “

1922     24th June   ....Raising of the Union Jack for the first time on the flagstaff, presented to the      Club by Colonel J.M.Denny C.D.
